Rosamond / Santa Monica, California
For the 4th of July weekend, we decide to go to California to visit Candace's brother and his wife Mike and Kristin at their place. We left July 3 around 1:30 p.m. and got there at 8:30. It was a blessing for us because the kids were so good. We only had to stop twice. Once for gas and the other for dinner. Once we got there we had lots of fun. Emery was so excited to be there and to play with her cousin Alona. They had so much fun playing. They would hold hands and run across the room. On the 4th we got invited to a BBQ for the 4th, but of course it was for Candace's birthday. The food was really good and they went all out. We all had a good time.That night we went to see fireworks.
The reason we went to visit them is because Mike got accepted into Cambridge University in England, and we wanted to see them before they left. It's only a year MBA program, but they plan on living there after he finishes.
So, it finally came time to leave, and we packed our bags and told Emery that it was time to go. She was kept saying "NO" every time we told her we were leaving. Once we said good bye to Mike and Kristin, I told Emery to say good bye to Alona, and she started running upstairs. I had to grab her and take her to the car. She started crying because she wanted to stay. It broke my heart. She was crying and Candace was trying to calm her down but it was not working. She asked Candace "mama please take me out." After a couple of minutes she calmed down and we made it home safety with only one stop. Thanks kids.
The next day we went to the beach. We took Alona with us because Mike had to work and Kristin couldn't come because they only had one car. We got there around 11:30 and the kids wanted to get in the water right away. We got in and they were in the water for about 20 min and then they got cold. So we got out and put coats on them and playing in the sand for some time. Once there temp was back to normal they wanted to get back in the water. They were loving the waves. Shane didn't even get into the water, but he still had a great time.We flew a kite and kicked the soccer ball around. Candace decide to lay out for a bit and Emery wanted to be just like mom so she also did.
